The pistachio was almost unknown by western cultures before the 1980’s, when it was introduced into the European market as a highly valued product both as an ingredient and snack.
This culinary nut is originally from the Far East. It was especially favoured by the monarchic dynasties and legend says it was Queen Saba’s favourite nut.
